Frequently asked questions
Ingredients, shipping, delivery time and returns — the things people ask us most often, answered plainly.
- What is kondattam?
Kondattam is a traditional Kerala preparation of vegetables that are spiced and then dried in the sun until crisp, so they keep without refrigeration and fry up in seconds. Shreshtam makes kondattam from bitter gourd (pavakka), long beans (payar) and curd chillies (kondattam mulak).
- Do Shreshtam pickles contain vinegar or preservatives?
No. Shreshtam pickles are made without vinegar and without chemical preservatives. They are cooked and packed by hand in small batches in Malappuram, Kerala.
- Where are Shreshtam products made?
Everything is made by hand in Pulinkav, Cherukara PO, Malappuram district, Kerala — one kitchen, small batches, filled and sealed by hand.
- Do you ship across India?
Yes. Shreshtam ships pan-India by India Post Speed Post. The delivery fee is calculated from the parcel weight and your delivery state, and is shown at checkout before you pay.
- How long does delivery take?
The estimated delivery time is 7 days. Actual delivery time varies with your location.
- Can I pay cash on delivery?
Yes. Cash on delivery is available at checkout, alongside online payment by card, UPI and the other methods supported at checkout.
- Can I return a product?
Yes. A return can be raised within 7 days of delivery. Because these are food items, keep the jar or packet and its label so the issue can be looked into, and a photo helps resolve it quickly. If you are not satisfied with a Shreshtam product, you get a full refund.
- What does Shreshtam sell?
Three ranges: traditional Kerala pickles, South Indian spice powders such as sambar powder, rasam powder and chammanthi podi, and sun-dried kondattam.
